A Coroner's Court was told yesterday that a Scottish builder found dead in Ardee, Co Louth, last February had died from trauma to the head, neck and trunk.
A murder inquiry was launched after the body of Mr Patrick Gallagher, was found in a house at Drogheda Road, Ardee, early last February 7th. Yesterday, Mr Paul Lynch, a civil engineering contractor, told Drogheda Coroner's Court he had employed the deceased. He formally identified his body to the Assistant State Pathologist, Dr Marie Cassidy.
A medical report from Dr Harpel Gujral stated that at 6 a.m. on February 7th he had examined the body and found no pulse or heart beat and Mr Gallagher was clinically dead.
Garda Insp Vincent Rowan asked for the inquest to be adjourned as criminal proceedings have commenced.
