The Corrs are to open the UK's national Millennium Festival during a special concert in Omagh next Friday night. Some 3,000 fans are expected to attend the free event, which is being held in the town's Showgrounds arena.
Organisers expect a massive demand for tickets, which are to be distributed at Omagh Leisure Centre from tomorrow morning.
The TV presenter Eamonn Holmes will compere the three-hour show and the Omagh Youth and Community Choir, which featured on the tribute album Across the Bridge of Hope, will also appear. A number of other local artists are also expected to take part.
During the evening, local children will light a millennium beacon and young people will then carry tapers, Olympic-style, to other towns and cities for the start of four months of celebration to mark the year 2000.
Welcoming the initiative, the chairwoman of the Northern Ireland Millennium Company, Dr Aideen McGinley, said she was pleased that The Corrs had offered their services.
