The managing council of the Northern Ireland Hospice has resigned following nine months of controversy over the suspension, reinstatement and renewed dismissal of its former administrative director, Mr Tom Hill.
In a statement, the council said it was in the best interests of the hospice to stand down in advance of the charity's extraordinary general meeting next week. The council would have faced a bid to unseat it at the e.g.m. An interim management team has been appointed by a staff group.
