Thousands of counterfeit DVDs worth €250,000 have been seized in Dublin.

The seizure took place this morning when a house on the South Circular road was raided by the Anti-Racketeering Unit of the National Bureau of Criminal Investigation.

The raid was the result of a joint investigation carried out between the Garda and the Police Service of Northern Ireland.

Thousands of DVDs including recent film releases such as 'Shrek 2' and 'Spiderman 2' were discovered. One man is being questioned by gardaí.
