A jury at the Central Criminal Court today found John Francis Dolan, 27, guilty of the murder of his mother and the manslaughter of his father at the family home in East Wall, Dublin in June 1999.
Dolan lived with his parents, Mrs Gertrude Dolan (56), and her husband Mr John Dolan (71), when the deaths occurred on a date between June 16th and 19th 1999.
The bodies were not discovered until June 28th, when Mrs Dolan's two brothers visited the house looking for their sister.
Dolan was sentenced to life in prison for the murder of his mother. He will be sentenced for his father's manslaughter next month.
