An application by Shelbourne soccer star Pascal Vaudequin for an interlocutory injunction against the FAI and Accolade Ltd, trading as the Shelbourne football club, has been refused by the High Court.

Last week Vaudequin got a temporary injunction which restrained the FAI and his club from treating him as a suspended player.

Refusing the application yesterday, the President of the High Court, Mr Justice Costello, said Mr Vaudequin had failed to show that there was a prima-facie case which should go to trial on which there was any probability that he would succeed.

Mr Vaudequin (30), of Lower Galliagh Road, Derry, had applied for an interlocutory injunction which would continue the restraint order against the FAI and his club until his action was heard by the court.

Mr Vaudequin claimed he had not been lawfully suspended and was objecting to the procedures adopted by the FAI.
