A South African court rejected former South African captain Hansie Cronje's appeal against a life ban from cricket, but said he could take part in certain coaching and media activities.
Cronje was banned for life by his former employers, the United Cricket Board of South Africa, after admitting to taking over $130,000 in bribes from illegal bookmakers to influence the course of matches.
Cronje's lawyers had argued that he had been entitled to a hearing before the ban was applied and that the ban infringed on his personal rights and South African labour laws.
