A Belfast court has ruled that leading loyalist Mark Haddock will be returned to Maghaberry Prison once he is released from hospital where he is undergoing treatment following an attempt on his life.
Haddock (37), from north Belfast, is in the Royal Victoria Hospital receiving treatment after being shot several times close to an Orange hall on the Doagh Road, Newtownabbey, in north Belfast last month.
Belfast Crown Court judge Mr Justice Hart revoked Haddock's bail today ruling that when he was shot last month that he had breached his bail conditions.
In applying to have Haddock's bail conditions extended to allow him to live in England, defence lawyer Mr Barry Gibson revealed that his client suffered seven gun shot wounds - one to the left side of his abdomen, two to the right side, one to the right renal area and
three with "entrance/exit wounds" around his left shoulder, arm and elbow.
Haddock is awaiting judgment from another judge in a case related to the attempted murder attack on Ballyclare pub doorman Trevor Gowdy, who claims that Haddock beat him up with a hatchet and an iron bar outside a Monkstown club on December 27th, 2002.
