A builder was yesterday told by the High Court he could resume work on a housing development at the Old Mill, Clondalkin, Co Dublin, a fortnight after the court had closed down the site for breaches of the Health and Safety Regulations.
Ms Justice Laffoy was told the site was closed by order of the court until safety measures had been put in place. The application had been made by the Health and Safety Authority following inspections of the site where 30 people were employed.
Mr Fergal Foley, counsel for the authority, told the court that the defendant, Dawndale Developments Ltd, had substantially complied with the interim order.
Mr Martin Lawless had been named as project supervisor and the company agreed to complete the works in accordance with an agreed safety plan.
