Judges at the UN war crimes tribunal in The Hague today rejected a request for genocide charges against former Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic to be dropped.
They said they were satisfied there was a sufficient case for him to answer. Court officials overseeing his defence case - which he is conducting himself - had asked for a genocide charge to be scrapped.
Milosevic is on trial for genocide and war crimes in the Balkans in the 1990s and will start his defence, delayed due to his ill health, in July.
