Gary McAllister is expected to be named as Coventry City's new manager in the next 48 hours.
The former Sky Blues midfielder, with Liverpool, has been lined up to replace Roland Nilsson, who was sacked last week. It would mark McAllister's first foray into management after a successful playing career.
"I have been on the telephone non stop trying to organise things," he told the Daily Record. "I accept that, as a new manager, I am going to need the right help. Now I am waiting for the certain things to fall into place and then we will take it from there".
Motherwell's boss Eric Black has been linked with the job of assistant, but there is no get-out clause in his three-year deal and he confirmed his intentions to stay with the Fir Park club.
After watching his side beaten 4-0 by Hibernian he said: "It's speculation. I am manager of Motherwell and I have got plenty to get on with. I am working very hard top get positive results for Motherwell".
