London - Cows' milk is as good for older babies as specially prepared "formula" mixes, according to a study published today.
Increasing numbers of parents are turning to costly "follow-on" milks fortified with iron when breast-feeding ends at about six months.
But the study of almost 500 children, published in the British Medical Association's Archives of Disease in Childhood, concluded there was "no clear evidence" of any health benefit from formulas.
