Man faces court on suspicion of firearm offences

Second man released without charge over Crumlin incident and file to be sent to DPP

A man aged 28 was set to appear in court this morning in Dublin on suspicion of firearm and ammunition offences.

Another man, aged 19, was released without charge last night after being arrested in relation to the same incident, and a file is to be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Gardaí had been called out to Crumlin Road in Dublin on Thursday and there observed two men who fled when approached.

The two were arrested and firearms and ammunition were recovered, which are to be subjected to ballistic examination.

The men were brought to the Sundrive Road and Crumlin Garda stations and held under provisions of Section 30 Offences Against the State Act 1939 as amended.
