A man charged with the murders of his two sons whose bodies were found in Co Mayo this week was further remanded in custody today.
Sanjeev Chada (43) appeared at Harristown District Court this morning charged with the murders of his sons Eoghan (10) and Ruairí (5).
Garda Inspector Padraig Jones applied for a remand in custody for two weeks.
James Hanley, solicitor for Mr Chada, told the judge he was concerned that his client be looked after and enquired about the possibility of psychiatric help.
Judge Conal Gibbons directed appropriate medical treatment for Mr Chada but not a psychiatric report.
He remanded the accused in custody to Castlerea Prison, Co Roscommon and ordered him to appear at Harristown District Court on August 16th.
He was initially charged at a special sitting of Swinford District Court, Co Mayo, last night.
