The Irish Penal Reform Trust will hold a public seminar this Thursday on Prison Conditions as a Constitutional Issue: Recent Experiences from the US and Ireland, from 5pm to 7pm in the Distillery Building, Church Street, Dublin 7.
Two recent court judgments, from Ireland and the United States, in which the constitutional rights of prisoners were found to have been infringed by unacceptable prison conditions, will be discussed.
Don Specter and Sara Norman, who were involved in the California case, and Michael O’Higgins, counsel for the plaintiff in the Irish case, will both speak.
The trust’s agm will take place before the seminar.
