Three arrested over Tallaght drugs, weapons seizure

Two women and a man detained as five guns and drugs worth €250,000 found

Gardaí arrested three people and recovered five guns, along with drugs worth up to €250,000, in Tallaght on Saturday.

A Garda spokesman said members of the Organised Crime Unit, the Garda National Drugs Unit, Crime and Security and the Emergency Response Unit, alongside local units from Tallaght, searched two housed in Deerpark Rise on Saturday morning.

They recovered five guns, magazines and a large quantity of ammunition. They also seized herbal cannabis and ecstasy tablets with a combined estimated street value of up to €250,000 .

Two women -aged 32 and 33 - and a 24-year-old man were arrested and taken to Rathfarnham, Tallaght and Terenure Garda stations.

The 33-year-old woman is due to appear before Tallaght District Court later this month in relation to the seizure, while the other woman was released last night and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The man remains in custody and is expected to appear before Tallaght District Court at 10.30 this morning.
