Two face court over post office robbery in Enniskerry

Gardaí on mobile patrol near scene arrest two males shortly after armed raid

Two men aged 20 and 21 have been arrested and charged in connection with a post office robbery in Enniskerry perpetrated yesterday.

Two men had entered the Co Wicklow premises with bladed weapons at about 2.45pm and threatened staff and customers.

They left empty-handed, and no injuries were reported.

A Garda spokesman said gardaí “were on mobile patrol in the area at the time” and two males were arrested near the scene a short time later.

They were detained at Bray Garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 and were charged with offences in connection with the investigation.

They were both due to appear before Dublin District Court at the Criminal Courts of Justice at 10.30am this morning.

Gardaí are continuing to investigate the incident.
