A woman who suffered a "life threatening" injuries following a stabbing on the grounds of a primary school in Ennis, Co Clare, has been transferred to Cork University Hospital.
Her condition is reported to be stable. The 23-year-old victim was stabbed a number of times during an incident in the Station Road/Friar's Walk area of Ennis at about 5.05pm yesterday.
She was taken to the Midwestern Regional Hospital for treatment before being transferred to Cork yesterday evening.
A 22-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with the incident and is being questioned at Ennis Garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
A technical examination was carried out at the scene by gardaí yesterday evening.
