Zagreb - Mr Dinko Sakic, commander of the notorious Jasenovac concentration camp in Croatia during the second World War, was on his way back to Zagreb yesterday to stand trial for war crimes.
Mr Sakic (76), who was extradited from Argentina where he lived discreetly for 51 years, is accused of having carried out, or taken part in, the torture and execution of thousands of Jews, Serbs, Gypsies and others between 1942 and 1944.
