Havana - Calling itself a heroic "David of the Caribbean", Cuba has hailed its victory in a UN vote against the US economic embargo. The Cuban government said yesterday the 157-2 vote in the General Assembly against the embargo was a "brilliant" victory which proved international disdain for the "absurd" and "genocidal" US policy against the island. There were 12 abstentions, while the US and Israel were the only member states to vote against the resolution.
