An estimated £14 million worth of drugs have been seized at Dublin port in what Customs say is the largest seizure in the history of the State.
A four-tonne haul was discovered in a container that arrived from South Africa earlier this week.
The drugs were hidden in a consignment of dried fruit. The find followed what the Revenue Commissioners called "combined intelligence and profiling techniques".
The cannabis, said to have been of high quality, was thought to be bound for the drugs markets both here and in Britain.
