Nicosia - The EU has started preparing for the possibility of admitting a divided Cyprus into its ranks in the next wave of enlargement, Cyprus and Greece said yesterday. Greek and Cypriot foreign ministers said irrespective of whether a political settlement to the island's division was reached, Cyprus would be in the next enlargement.
However, they both appealed to the Turkish-occupied north to join the island's official negotiating team in its EU talks, an offer spurned in the past.
