Business services group DCC posted interim results well ahead of forecasts today amid strong growth in its IT and healthcare divisions.
Pre-tax profits increased by 21.4 per cent to €37.9 million with underlying rising 13 per cent to €43.8 million.
IT performed well, with profits up 12 per cent, helped by strong volume growth which more than offset the continuing deflationary environment.
Food and beverages remained under pressure and reported growth through acquisitions rather than through organic growth.
Environmental performed strongly, as expected, as the company highlighted that it is seeking development opportunities in Britain.
The company's energy division was the only black spot as performance was division was affected by the rapid rise in energy prices - although DCC believes the setback is temporary.
