The South African Rugby Football Union (SARFU) has completed its investigation into an alleged racism incident involving lock Geo Cronje and is expected to issue a statement later today.

Cronje was removed from South Africa's World Cup training squad on Thursday after it was alleged that he refused to room with a black member of the squad.

Christo Ferreira, manager of rules and regulations for SARFU and Adri Brand, senior council for SARFU, flew to Pretoria later that day to conduct an official investigation.

On Thursday, SA Rugby managing director Rian Oberholzer told the Cape Argusnewspaper the South African Rugby constitution had "zero tolerance" for racism in rugby and felt "very strongly" about the issue.

The paper had reported that the 23-year-old Blue Bulls player declined to share a room, bathroom, toilet or shower with mixed lock Quinton Davids.

The newspaper added that Cronje moved in with white scrumhalf Fourie du Preez while centre Gcobani Bobo had joined Davids in a show of solidarity.

Springbok coach Rudolf Straeuli announces his 30-man Rugby World Cup squad on Saturday.
