The body of what is believed to be a man has been found in a derelict building in Co Donegal.
The skeletal remains may have been on the premises in Letterkenny for several months or longer, according to a Garda spokesman. Although the gender and age of the deceased has not been established it is believed to be a man.
A Garda spokesman said this evening: "Initial indications are that the deceased was a male, Polish nationaly, aged in his thirties, who was last seen around June 26th, 2007."
The building in Gortlee, Letterkenny is close to the town centre and beside a busy supermarket. The building has been empty for some time and reports suggest it has been regularly by street drinkers.
The body was fully-clothed when found after a member of the public alerted gardaí in the town.
An examination of the scene has been finished, the Garda spokesman added. The body has been taken to Letterkenny Hospital where State Pathologist Professor Marie Cassidy will carry out a post mortem examination tomorrow.
