The trial of a Dublin man accused of shooting dead his neighbour is due to get under way at the Central Criminal Court today, after being adjourned earlier in the week when “an issue arose”.

Aidan Finnegan (30), Whitestown Avenue, Hartstown, Blanchardstown, has pleaded not guilty to murdering his neighbour Dara McCormack (22), not far from where they both lived, in February 2006.

Following the opening speeches, Mr Justice Garrett Sheehan informed the jury that an issue had arisen in the case and instructed them to return to the Central Criminal Court yesterday.

The three men and seven women were informed yesterday, however, that a “further issue” had arisen and that the case would have to be adjourned again until today.
