The government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo on Sunday lifted an overnight curfew imposed when President Joseph Kabila was sworn in after his father's assassination.
Information Minister, Mr Dominique Sakombi said the Interior Ministry had lifted the curfew, which was imposed on Friday, the day Joseph Kabila was sworn in as president following the January 16 assassination of his father.
Zimbabwe, Angola and Namibia, the government's allies in a war against rebels backed by Rwanda and Uganda, sent troops to Kinshasa and other key cities to ensure order after the killing and during Kabila's state funeral last Tuesday.
