Nominations have been invited for the 27th annual People of the Year awards, sponsored by the ESB and Rehab. Details of the 2001 competition were announced yesterday by the Garda Commissioner, Mr Pat Byrne.
For the first time, the public can nominate on-line for categories which include the Irish Person of the Year, the Young Irish Person of the Year and International Person of the Year.
Nomination forms are available from ESB shops and Rehab centres or, from next week, on the website www.peopleoftheyear.com. The closing date for entries is September 21st, 2001.
