Diageo has announced the Asia Pacific will become its fourth global region and to this end it has reconfigured its operations in the area as Diageo Asia Pacific.
The world's leading drinks producer said it will bring together the current Diageo International hub organisations in Asia, Greater China and Australia under a single regional executive committee led by the newly created role of President, Asia Pacific.
John Pollaers, formerly managing director Diageo Asia has been appointed to the position from February 1th, when the change becomes effective. He will also join the Diageo Executive Committee from that date.
Chief executive Paul Walsh said: 'We believe this reconfigured organisation gives us a better platform from which to deliver our significant top and bottom line growth expectations.'
The groups said International region - Africa, Latin America and Caribbean, as well as global travel and Middle East hubs - will continue to be led by president Stuart Fletcher.
