Other headline acts confirmed include Al Green, Nick Cave, Dwight Yoakam, the Gypsy Kings, Van Morrison, Paddy Casey, Paul Brady, Aslan, Ronan Keating, Brian McFadden and Tommy Tiernan.

Popular tenor Andrea Bocelli is also expected to be added to the line-up in the coming weeks.

Negotiations with the singer's agent are said to be at a critical stage, and a number of dates in mid-July are being examined.

If the concert goes ahead, Bocelli will perform with his 70-piece orchestra in Collins Barracks military square to a crowd of up to 10,000 people.

Brian Wilson will launch the Cork 2005 Marquee extravaganza on June 30th, the first appearance in Leeside by the former Beach Boy, who gave the world such seminal albums as Pet Sounds and Smile. The series of concerts will begin on June 30th and run until July 17th.
