Chris DiMarco leads the first round of the USPGA Tour's Genuity Championship in Miami with a 7-under 65.
DiMarco attacked the Doral Resort and Spa course with birdies on the first three holes. His round would have been even better but for a bogey at the 17th, where he drove into a bunker.
"It's nice to play well in Florida," said DiMarco, who leads the money list. "I don't think I have had too many really good Florida tournaments, so this is a good start".
DiMarco is one shot better than a quartet that includes Fiji's Vijay Singh and South Africa's Ernie Els.
Tiger Woods shot a five-under-par 67 to finish two strokes behind DiMarco.
Woods, who tied for ninth in his only appearance at this tournament in 1998, is among 10 players at five-under, including David Toms and 1997 winner Steve Elkington of Australia.
"It could have been a little bit better, but I am not going to be disappointed," said Woods, who had birdies at the 14th, 15th and 17th. "I played well today and it was nice making a couple of putts coming in."
