The Minister for Justice, Mr McDowell, has launched a Crime Prevention Directory, which lists crime prevention measures in operation in the State.
The directory was commissioned by the Department of Justice from the Centre for Social and Educational Research in the Dublin Institute of Technology. It was compiled by Dr Lorna Ryan.
The information given on each crime prevention measure includes, as well as name and address, the organisations responsible, funding sources, description of work and methodology, and work evaluations. The entries range from the National Age Card scheme to various youth diversion and anger management programmes.
Copies of the directory are available on the www.justice.ie website and from the Department of Justice at 72-76 St Stephen's Green.
