Disabled drivers still using the old black and white driver's sticker are being clamped when they park in designated spaces in Dublin, according to a Labour councillor, Ms Mary Freehill.
A new European badge which came into effect last September is the only one recognised by Dublin Corporation. Many badge holders are unaware that they risk being clamped.
Ms Freehill has urged the Corporation's traffic department to make a renewed effort to inform all disabled drivers by putting warning notices on illegally parked cars and to make contact through the central computer system.
The new badge can be used in any vehicle used by the disabled passenger or driver, whereas previously the badge was issued to the vehicle.
