Scottish distillers William Grant and Sons is to establish its new global marketing office in Dublin, creating 17 jobs.
The office will manage global marketing operations for the firm’s non-Scotch brands including Sailor Jerry, Hendrick’s Gin and Tullamore Dew Irish whiskey.
William Grant acquired C&C’s Irish spirits and liqueur brands portfolio, including Tullamore Dew, for €300 million in July.
The new office will work with the existing global marketing office in London, and will also lead global planning and innovation function. The company plans to develop the Tullamore Dew brand.
The UK office will manage the company’s Scotch whisky brands Glenfiddich, The Balvenie and Grant’s, and both offices will be overseen by marketing director Maurice Doyle, who is originally from Co Wicklow.
“The establishment of a global marketing office in Dublin underlines our strong commitment to Ireland and the rapid progress we have made since first establishing ourselves here earlier this year,” said chief executive Stella David.
“Our recent acquisition of Irish brands focusing on Tullamore Dew is now well embedded within the group and we look forward to strong growth over the next 12-18 months.”
William Grant currently operates a bottling plant in Clonmel, Co Tipperary, taking product from third parties. Its Tullamore Dew whiskey is supplied by Irish Distillers, which makes Jameson.
