A man in his 20s who got into difficulties while diving on a shipwreck off Lambay Island, Co Dublin, yesterday was rescued by the Coast Guard Rescue service helicopter based at Dublin airport and flown to Craigavon hospital, the nearest centre with a compression chamber.
The coastguard service in Dublin received a radio alert from a boat accompanying a diving school at 1.15 p.m. yesterday. The group was diving on the wreck of the Lancaster, 2 1/2 miles north-east of Lambay Island.
