People living in Donegal and Kerry have the least amount of spare cash to spend, a survey revealed today.
But if you want money to throw around the best places to live and work are Dublin, Kildare and Limerick, according to a survey of county Incomes and Regional GDP from 2003.
According to the Central Statistics Office, in Donegal during 2003 each worker had on average €15,594 in disposable income, while in Kerry the figure was €16,087.
Dubliners had on average €21,082 to spend, people in Kildare have €19,261, while in Limerick it was €18,785.
The CSO study into county incomes found workers living in the Southern and Eastern regions had disposable income 2.9 per cent above the State average.
In the Border, Midland and Western regions, however, it was 8 per cent below the state average, a drop on the previous two years.
Also in the study, the CSO revealed the average output level per person in the Southern and Eastern region, as measured by gross value added, was 10.8 per cent above the State average in 2003.
The level of gross value added (GVA) per person in the Southern and Eastern region increased by 67 per cent in the period 1998 to 2003, whereas the GVA per person in the Border, Midlands and Western region increased by 56 per cent during the same period.
