A Co Donegal man has been given leave to appeal to the Supreme Court a decision upholding his conviction for the attempted murder of a part-time UDR soldier in Co Fermanagh five years ago. Noel Christopher Magee (36), of Ballyshannon, Co Donegal, is appealing a Court of Criminal Appeal decision last Wednesday upholding his conviction for the attempted murder of Mr William Eric Glass, at Scardans, Belleek, Co Fermanagh, on February 5th 1992. In November 1995, Magee was jailed by the Special Criminal Court for 11 1/2 years on the attempted murder count and on related firearms offences.
