Dozens of people are feared dead after two buses crashed on a bridge over a Kenyan swollen river and plunged into the water below.
Independent Nation radio says the accident occurred when the two buses headed from the coastal town of Malindi to the Indian Ocean port of Mombasa collided.
It was not immediately clear whether one bus was trying to overtake the other on the bridge over the Sabaki river.
The radio has quoted police as saying they had pulled 13 bodies from the crocodile-infested river and that divers from the Kenyan navy had been called in to search for others.
Kenya has virtually no emergency rescue equipment nor personnel equipped to handle such disasters.
A week ago, a fire in a boarding school dormitory locked from the outside 50 kilometres from Nairobi killed 65 boys.
