One of the great winter events for food lovers is Gerry Galvin's demonstration courses at Drimcong House, his celebrated restaurant in Moycullen, west of Galway.
This year, there are two planned series of courses. The first takes place over four days, from Tuesday-Friday, November 11th-14th. Besides seeing the dazzling inventiveness of Mr Galvin at work, participants will also enjoy lunch each day with different wines, and receive a course certificate, and a copy of Mr Galvin's Everyday Gourmet, which will be published in October. The four-day course costs £275 per person.
There will also be one-day demonstration courses on November 19th, 20th, 26th and 27th. The courses cost £45 per person, including lunch and a copy of the new book. They can also recommend local accommodation.
