Harry McCue has been sacked as manager of Drogheda United after the club's board met to discuss his tenure following four straight defeats in the eircom Premier Division.
In a statement made on the club's official website, the board confirmed the decision and thanked McCue for the time and effort he put in during his time at the club.
A shortlist of candidates in line to replace McCue will be announced within the coming days.
Drogheda are currently one place off the bottom of the Premier Division, in ninth spot, following 10 losses and just five wins and are scheduled to play Waterford tomorrow night at home in O2 Park.
