Drogheda United 2 Cobh Ramblers 0
Drogheda United turned in a convincing performance at O2 Park this evening to win 2-0 over against Cobh Ramblers to book their place in the play-off final.
Declan O'Brien opened the scoring for the home side after just 24 minutes after some unselfish play from Andy Myler left O'Brien with a straight forward finish.
Cobh tried doggedly to get back into the game but were always second to the ball.
Drogheda'a second came just before the half-time whistle when Shaun Gallagher on his return to first team football beat Derek Gallagher in the Cobh goal.
Cobh struggled to find their footing in the second half until a Mark Dempsey shot rallied the troops and they pushed forward in search of something from the tie.
Declan McGregor and Jason Kabia both had chances late on but combination of good goal keeping from Gary Rogers in the Drogheda goal and some wayward shooting saw Cobh's promotion hopes fade for another year.
