DRY AND settled weather is to continue for the weekend, but temperatures will not be as high as recently, Met Éireann has said.

The clear skies will be replaced in most parts of the country with overcast conditions, but the cloud is unlikely to yield much rain.

Today and tomorrow are expected to be dry in most areas, with only patches of mist and drizzle.

Recent highs of 19 and 20 degrees will not be repeated in the next few days. Temperatures are not expected to get above 15 degrees today and a light to moderate northerly breeze will make it feel cooler.

Tomorrow, temperatures of up to 13 degrees are expected, with the northern half of the country cooler than the south.

In the forthcoming week temperatures are expected to remain low, with a severe frost and zero degrees predicted for Tuesday night.
