Dublin-Budapest flights to start later this month

Malev, the Hungarian airline, is starting an air service between Dublin and Budapest on September 27th

Malev, the Hungarian airline, is starting an air service between Dublin and Budapest on September 27th. There will be flights from Dublin on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays, and from Budapest to Dublin on Sundays, Mondays and Thursdays.

The return journey costs from £297 with seven days' advance purchase and a Saturday night stopover. Tickets can be booked through travel agents.

Ireland and Hungary signed an aviation agreement in 1992. Malev says its research indicates that the route will be popular with business travellers, and connections can be made through Budapest to Malev's flights to the Middle East, Far East and Asia.

The service will benefit many Irish companies which have trade links with Hungary. More than £10 million in Irish capital has been invested in Hungary in recent years.
