A Dublin man was served with six warrants alleging conspiracy to cause explosions in the UK when he appeared at a Dublin court yesterday.
Mr Anthony Duncan (28), single and unemployed, of Kippure Park, Finglas, appeared at the Dublin District Court sitting at Green Street.
Det Sgt Martin Lee of the Crime Branch at Garda Headquarters told the court he arrested Duncan at 9.10 a.m. yesterday at the court and served him with six warrants issued by the petty sessions division of South Westminster and endorsed by an assistant Garda commissioner.
The warrants allege Mr Duncan conspired with a person or persons unknown to cause explosions in the UK on or before six dates from August 13th, 1993, to June 13th, 1994. Mr Duncan was arrested last December on a warrant seeking his extradition for conspiracy to cause explosions in the UK.
Judge Michael Connellan remanded Mr Duncan in custody until next Monday, but his solicitor, Mr Michael Farrell, said he would be applying for bail at the High Court.
