Dublin man admits possession of child porn

A Dublin businessman has pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography at Trim Circuit Court.

A Dublin businessman has pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography at Trim Circuit Court.

A married father of two, Kevin Hunt (40) of Brookville, Hunters Lane, Ashbourne, Co Meath had over 500 images of child pornography when gardai raided his home and two business premises on the 27th May 2002, contrary to the Child Trafficking and Pornography Act 1998.

He was arrested by gardai under Operation Amethyst during which 127 locations in the Republic were searched and over 100 people are to be prosecuted.

Judge Groarke has adjourned hearing the remainder of the evidence till July 30th. Mr Hunt was remanded on continuing bail. Judge Groarke ordered Mr Hunt be placed on the Sex Offenders Register.
