A Dublin man charged with membership of the IRA after a Garda investigation into paramilitary activity at the funeral of Alan Ryan in early September has been granted legal aid at the Special Criminal Court.

Nathan Kinsella (33) is charged with membership of an unlawful organisation styling itself the Irish Republican Army, otherwise Óglaigh na hÉireann, otherwise the IRA, on September 13th, 2012.

He was arrested in September along with Vincent Ryan (22), a brother of the deceased man, and Darragh Evans (23), who are also charged with the same offence on the same date.

Mr Justice Paul Butler, sitting with Judge Margaret Heneghan and Judge William Hamill, remanded the accused man on continuing bail to appear before the court on December 11th.
