Dublin Corporation's new traffic training centre has opened at the O'Brien Institute in Marino. The centre will be used for training and development courses for staff from the Office of the Director of Traffic. The centre was designated the European SCATS Support Centre. SCATS (the Sydney Co-ordinated Adaptive Traffic Control System) is the city's computer-based traffic system. The Corporation said that by the middle of next year, it would be extended to cover all main routes in the city.
