Damien Duff has said the £17 million sterling transfer fee that Chelsea have agreed to pay Blackburn for his services is "a ridiculous price on my head".
The London club, backed by new Russian owner Roman Abramovich, look set to take their summer spending to the £30 million mark if Duff agrees to the move.
The Republic of Ireland international is in talks over the move.
"It is a stupid price with the way the game has gone," he told the London Evening Standard. "But at the end of the day, it is all about money with football directors".
