A Roscommon food company has initiated an immediate recall of salad products following the discovery of E.coli levels during routine sampling by the Western Health Board (WHB).
Coleslaw, potato salad and rice salad made by Finola Foods in Co Roscommon has been recalled on the advice of the WHB's environmental health officers. The discovery was made during regular sampling at the company's manufacturing facility and at retail outlets, according to a board spokeswoman.
Mr Michael Guthrie, manager of Finola Foods, said last night that most of the product had been located and taken back. The recall was a precautionary measure, he added.
