Ankara - The Turkish Minister of State for the Economy, Mr Hikmet Ulugbay, was in stable condition at an Ankara hospital yesterday after a suicide attempt, the Health Minister, Mr Osman Durmus, said.
"His life is no longer in danger," Mr Durmus said after visiting the hospital where Mr Ulugbay underwent a threehour emergency operation after trying to shoot himself earlier yesterday. Mr Ulugbay (60) fired two shots to his head from a Smith and Wesson revolver at his home in Ankara.
